Gingerbread Townhouse Cookies

GINGERBREAD TOWNHOUSE VILLAGE COOKIES

Gingerbread townhouse cookies – a must-bake cookie for the holiday season! These gingerbreads are very delicious, crisp, sturdy, and hold their shape, never spread and spiced beautifully with ginger and cardamom! If you are planning to bake a Christmas table centerpiece of gingerbread townhouse village as I did, this is your go-to cookie recipe! Works perfectly like a charm!

GINGERBREAD TOWNHOUSE VILLAGE COOKIES

I made a very tall village ( I used 4 x dough to make this village) but you could certainly make a small one. I used styrofoam pieces, you could cover it with royal icing or brush corn syrup all over and sprinkle some sparkling sugar all over it. Arrange the cookies ( you could prop them with a toothpick or stick them with royal icing) and sprinkle some powdered sugar on top to complete the look! It turned out beautifully!

I did not use any cookie cutters. There are lots of townhouse cookies template’s available on Etsy. You could choose your favorite and make your village. I used 1s piping tip.

Pack it in cling wrap and refrigerate it for an hour or overnight. The dough stays areas for 3 days in the refrigerator.

Take the dough out roll it on in between two parchment sheets, use templates to cut out the desired shapes.

Bake for 8 to 10 mins till the edges brown. Timings very depending on the size.

Remove and let cool. Make the royal icing and decorate your townhouses as desired.
